Getting to know Zooba’s Brand:
Before we designed their space with cool plants, we studied Zooba’s cool brand aesthetics first done by &Walsh, AE Superlab & others.
The interior space also reflects exactly the vibrant nature that’s depicted through their menu, murals, and other assets. This was important to notice as we were thinking about what plants would complement or add to the brand.
Works By &Walsh
Zooba also has simple interesting shapes that inspired us to look at the plants we were considering differently.
Zooba’s Shapes
These shapes inspired us to look closely at the patterns that are on the plants and how they could tell the brand’s story in a subtle but intentional way.
Brand Embracing Its Culture
Another key design element that we considered was the word ‘origin’. For Zooba, it was clear to see their love and support for their culture which was clearly present through the design of their door that clearly redefines what a restaurant door ought to be.
Different plants from the continent Africa were studied because we wanted to further show Zooba’s love and care for their regional influence. In the process, many plants were considered that we thought not only embraced the origin but also embraced their brand that’s unique on its own.
African Plants
Snake plants in the outdoor dining area were added along with other plants to add more height to their planters. By adding more height, the outdoor dining space felt more lively and gave people more privacy.
Privacy and Vibrancy Enhanced
In the inside of the restaurant, different plants were added to not only add more life to the space but to guide people into different locations.
Forms of plants all differ based on many factors. These differences all help contribute in telling a brand’s story and defining the narrative better to create harmony and beauty.
